Yes, thank god youve shown everyone what is wrong with them. not whats "wrong" with them, just that theres more to life than pittsburgh. i wish people are as passionate about things that really mattered as they are about the steelers. That's funny, because I recall when I was passionately talking about religion -- something that matters and affects a great number of people's lives -- you were the one calling me an self important asshole. You wanted me to just "live and let live" about my real important issue, while at the same time, you are not even willing to just let go something like a football celebration which is actually of no importance whatsoever. In fact, you are blatantly violating your own principle here -- you say you want people to be passionate about something important, but you are spending your energy on complaining about fucking football. I call bullshit on this one. I don't think you really give two shits about anything important, nor do you want other people to. You just use that demand as a way to look morally and intellectually superior to others, when in reality, you just want an excuse to lambaste people that you feel superior to, due to a deep inferiority complex that you've acquired about some part of yourself.

I re-read what I just posted and realized it came off a bit mean spirited and that's not really how I intended it. Here's the thing -- I recognize a lot of these characteristics in myself, past and present. It took a lot of people pointing out to me that I was a douche for a long time before I go the picture. Whenever I've been insecure in the past I usually become a dick and lash out at people. Similarly, if I feel threatened (for example, by Christian rhetoric), it is easy to lash out at the group as a whole, rather than deal with the issue at hand. I try consciously these days to keep the douchebaggery, bitching, and hatred to a minimum, though not always successfully.
My point is -- pick your battles. Is this really something worth shitting on people over? It's easy to be an asshole in the internet because of the lack of someone staring you in the eye, being able to kick you in the dick, etc. But seriously, wouldn't the world be improved, if just ever so slightly, if you just stopped attacking people with no provocation, other than them enjoying themselves? You might disagree, I just figured I'd throw it out there and that it might save you a couple punches in the teeth and/or dick in the future.
That's all.

outside of pittsburgh, yinzer is indeed a derogatory term. it's the same as calling someone from alabama a redneck. they wear the redneck badge with pride, but everyone outside of that society laughs at them. it really isn't. you know why? because the vast majority of people outside of pittsburgh have no idea what a yinzer is. its not a derogatory term elsewhere because its not even a term elsewhere. just like some people from northeast PA refer to themselves at Haynas and the rest of the world has no idea what the fuck that is. so, in short, you're wrong, but trying really hard, i guess. i've heard it in raleigh, seattle, and charleston, sc

Actually, I think being a douche and knowingly continuing to be one is actually worse that being unaware. Also, if you're a dick and make absolutist reactionary statements, do you honestly expect anything else in return?

Sean, there are two bars in Squirrel Hill that you might dig. - One is Silky's. They have awesome food, two floors with television access on both. Kind of a family-ish atmosphere.
- The other is called Fanatics. It's on Shady, near Forbes. Its a little small, but it is always full of die hard fans.
