Furries always make me think of that really creepy scene in The Shining where Shelley Duvall is running around the hotel with a butcher knife and comes across a room in which people dressed as animals are presumeably going at it on one of the hotel beds.
The scene wasnt in the book - Kubric just, for whatever reason, decided to throw that in there.
