Yeah it was someone in a bear costume blowing a butler, Kubrick just wanted to show just how weird the people at the Outlook Hotel are.
IT WORKED

Because only the lowly dregs of humanity who have nothing in life to make them happy and are far inferior to Andrew's understanding of the world say shit like that, Paul. Hes going to go on another "Im better than you" spree because of that. See how you already got a condescending "rofl copter" If only we could all reach the high place that Andrew sits in that makes him better than everyone. For now were all merely stupid peasants with nothing better going on in our lives than watching football. Im glad hes helped me see the error of my ways, I really thought all this other awesome stuff going on in my life was what was making me happy, but nope turns out thats all a lie and all I have is football. my comment was not in reference to the fact that he likes football, rather the ridiculous "if you dont like the steelers you aint shit" comment. i could care less that he likes football, but i dont feel like im really missing out on anything in my life because i dont like the steelers. typical yinzer quote.

In all fairness to the furries, I met a lot of them during the first convention they had in Pittsburgh a couple years ago. They used to be in Philly but moved due to issues with the venue if I understand correctly. For the most part, they're all really intelligent people with scads of disposable income (which is evidenced by the fact that they fly around the world to go to these conventions and some of their costumes cost thousands of dollars.)
Their hobby is a bit odd at best, and the porn that their particular subculture creates confuses me more than it arouses me, but if they want to bring all of that fat nerd convention money into Pittsburgh, god bless the hell out of their furry hearts.

Furries always make me think of that really creepy scene in The Shining where Shelley Duvall is running around the hotel with a butcher knife and comes across a room in which people dressed as animals are presumeably going at it on one of the hotel beds. The scene wasnt in the book - Kubric just, for whatever reason, decided to throw that in there. That was pretty fucking creepy. They had a documentary thing on G4 on furries, and it's apparently not as exciting as I'd hoped it would be. It was at an anthrocon somewhere and it was pretty much just a bunch of geeks dressed up like animals, sitting in hotel rooms, playing card games and listening to music. No hardcore furry porn.

I don't remember ever getting into football. I just remember watching games w/ my gram at her place and eating snacks. It kind of just happens and when you're attached to something that long well it becomes apart of your life.

Games with my uncle at Three Rivers when the team was bad but still sold out every game.
