Andrew, just wondering, how old are you?
Regardless of the answer, you need to grow the fuck up.

Yeah, those people were real chodes for having fun. Maybe you're the "chode" because you're sitting on a message board complaining about a parade. A PARADE.

i really dont care how i come off. and im pretty sure you dont have to deal with this whole pittsburgh thing right now. i wish this whole economy thing would straighten out a little sooner. toronto, seattle, <insert city here> cant come soon enough.Have you ever been to Canada? If so, Toronto? You do know they're fanatic about hockey up there right? There is talk about Toronto getting a second hockey team. The Maple Leafs are about as big as the Steelers in Toronto. Think about that for a second. Let's say you move to Toronto in a few years. Right now the Maple Leafs are in a rebuilding state and could finally win a Stanley Cup for the 1st time since 1967 -- good luck w/ getting around town then. Toronto might be getting an NFL team in the near future too, that will go well w/ their MLB and NBA teams. Seattle -- I was in Seattle shortly after Super Bowl XL and I have no doubt it in my mind it would have been a bit hectic had they won. They're also pretty adamant about the Mariners up there.

That'll really inconvenience some people.

i was complaining because my work was inconvenienced by a game. for ONE DAY. 1. singular. Again, this isn't a regular thing. And it's something people get excited about. Yes, I'm sure some of the "drunken slobs" downtown yesterday were annoying. Again, I reiterate, one day. As if we don't all hit days where our routines, if we're people who stick to a routine, are completely demolished because of forces of the outside world. But are you this unable to adapt to changes in your environment that occur infrequently and last only a matter of hours? Did you get fired because you couldn't make it between A and B in time? Did you not even know there was going to be a parade? Last, as a "Mom" - I've met you, your a nice kid you don't come off in person as being as condescending as you sound in these threads and posts. I think you should learn to "lighten up" a little and live and let live, so to speak. I have to make note of this because I've met you once or twice in the last year or so and in person you *don't* come off as such a self-important bag of dicks. But on here you seem to do nothing but present yourself to be as such. I'm sure a lot of the people there who were drunk were college kids (so what more can you expect from them?) and people who took a day off work to attend the parade and have a good time. Boo-friggin-hoo. Additionally, not everyone was drunk. A lot of people went with their families. A lot of those people spent money downtown. I'm sure the city made more off of having the parade than they spent on any extra police in the area. I think your problem is you need to just exert less energy looking down your nose at others.

look, i like stirring the pot. it makes my day go by faster. that said..
i think my main point of disdain over this whole thing is this: like i said, when i was in toronto this past weekend, 25,000 people organized over the sri lanka and tamil tiger conflict. they organized to speak out about genocide.
on the flip side, 350,000 people organized here in support of a game. i guess i just have real contempt for society as a whole, not just the trashy yinzers (who an acquaintance of mine pointed out this morning are basically the north's version of backwoods, inbred, racist southern rednecks. i'd say thats an extremely accurate comparison.)

So, slightly changing the subject, did anybody actually go to this thing for the purpose of going to the parade? If it was on a weekend I would have considered coming up for it (or at least discussing the possibility of going up with my dear wife and we would have come to a mutual decision on the matter) just because it seems like it'd be a good time. These playoffs have been a good time and I think it'd be fun to spend a day amongst the throngs of people who have been throwing down beers and yelling at the TV in anticipation.
(And I would have been able to plan ahead since we all knew Pittsburgh was going to win this year.)

We all know you like stirring the pot. These boards would be boring without it. Debates over things like religion and politics, I've learned to either ignore, laugh at or simply not mind when you attack people. Because I've learned that's what you do, you typically don't actually care about what you're saying to whom.
But this thread you weren't stirring any pot, you were implying "I'm better than anyone interested in THIS"
