Hello lovely residents of Pittsburgh!
I'm trying to book a show on Friday June 18 for the Washington, D.C., band Deutschmarks ( www.myspace.com/deutschmarks ). Any suggestion/help? Please e-mail DeutschmarksDC@gmail.com .
One sheet:
Deutschmarks sits on a pier of pulsing rhythms and and freewheeling melodies and throws little pebbles of misplaced nostalgia and Catholic mysticism into a big ol salty sea. Owing as much to early Who and CCR as he does to Les Savy Fav and Jens Lekman, helmsman Chris DeWitt barks and hollers and croons his way through a lively and energetic set of barn-burners.
And from a review on Rockwurst:
"The Deutschmark sound is influenced by a combination of late ’60s/early-70s British hard rock, swamp-ass punk, and bar-room-band joie de vivre. Deutschmarks’ guitar-driven songs are marked by dramatic shifts in mood, rhythm, tempo; each track is delivered in a distinct voice and contains its own narrative construct, complete for the most part with rising action, climax, denouement, etc., but not necessarily in that order. Dare I say ... Deutshmarks, like any good DC-based trio, is a literate band. When their set is considered as a whole, the listener gets the impression that DeWitt isn’t necessarily focused on arbitrarily cobbling together a collection of power-rockers, but, rather, is deliberately cohering chapter-songs in the creation of an anthemic, concept-driven set that, perhaps, only he really gets. Cheers to that."

We'll be touring with the Pennsylvania band Herring Bones (http://www.myspace.com/herringbones) and hitting Wilkes Barre, Penn. on the 17th and Columbus on the 19th.
Let me know if you can help!
