This Saturday the 24th - Bloomfield Pub Crawl

This is organized and run by the folks at Pittsburgh Pub Crawl Int.
But its open to everyone, so I'm posting it out there for any that might want to join in.

NOTE: This is a Pubcrawl.us event and is cross-posted everywhere. If you know what rule number one is (see below:-), then I don't want to hear any BS ;-)... You must obey the pubcrawl.us rules below.

Note 2: Steeler's Pep Rally/Bloomfield Bar Crawl

Wear Steelers Jerseys or any other Steelers apparel(if you want too...) to the bar crawl on Saturday. (Steeler's apparel isn't mandatory because not everyone is going to get the word this late in the game)....

We're meeting at Alexanders Pasta Bistro to eat at 5:45 pm and the crawl officially starts at 7pm. Decide when ya want to show up...

NOTE: You will need a nametag on this crawl and this crawl we might have some tight fits into some bars (they will all have extra staff to take care of us). So if the bar is too full go to the next one. Also if you want to go bar sightseeing... Check out really tiny bars of Pollock Cafe, Armand's, and West Penn Tavern (too small for the crawl).

7:00pm to 7:30 pm Alexander's Italian Bistro- 5104 Liberty Ave
Pushing for the Wine Special 1/2 off all wines... A bunch of us are meeting at 5:45pm-6pm to catch a bite to eat early

7:30 to 8:15 pm Silkies Pub- Corner 5135 Liberty Avenue and Evangiline Street Special TBA

8:15 to 8:50 pm LOU's Lil Corner Bar- 5224 Liberty Avenue $2 all Drafts

8:50 to 9:40 pm Pleasure Bar- 4729 Liberty Avenue, Their side room has comfy couches
$6 Hoegarden Framboise and $5 Black n Tans

9:40 to 10:40 pm Nico's Recovery Room- Corner of Friendship and Pearl Avenue KARAOKE!!!
$2 drafts except Blue Moon and Sam Adams

10:40 to 11:20 pm Lot 17- 4617 Liberty Avenue They are talking to Beer Reps to get us a special.

11:20pm to Close Coyote Cafe\Howlers- 4509 Liberty Avenue NO COVER FOR CRAWLERS W NAMETAGS!!! TWO ROCK N ROLL BANDS: "Standard Society" and "Last Good Year" $2 PBR Cans, $1.50 Mystery Beer and $2 shots given out by Roller Derby Girl!!!

THE RULES: Number ONE RULE: No Whining!!!

2. Our Dues have tripled it now costs NO MONEY!!! to go on crawls. Our Old dues= 0 $ so 0 x 3 = 0$ Remember we are doing this for the hell of it!!!

3. It is good to tip; it is not so good to assume you know the best place to put the bills.

4. If you ignore the whistle and show up late to the next bar or without a nametag, you may not get the special and you may have to pay the cover to get in. You can get nametags at the first 3 bars. And our bar-crawl tradition is not to put your real name on the nametag.

5. You are responsible for your behavior. If you get drunk, it is your own fault, not our fault and not the bar's. Take a cab home.(We reccommend Classy Cab, I like going home in a Limo).

6. You are also responsible for the people you invite. If you know someone is a nasty or problem drunk, do not invite him..her. The pub-crawl is not the place for him/her to display his/her talents. If you cause a problem, you will be asked to leave and so will the person who invited you. We have a good reputation. You will not spoil it for the rest of us.

7. Be nice to the bartenders and staff. When they remember us fondly, we get better specials.

8. To be added to the e-mail list, go to the http://www.pubcrawl.u... if you lose the nametag marker (Irish Rules), you forfeit your deposit (see Rule 2). Your 1st nametag is free and please put a nickname on your nametag just to make the crawl more fun!

9. Respect the people with the whistles, trying to organize these crawls is like herding cats; so buy them a drink (a lil self promotion doesn't hurt).

10. By participating in the crawl, you agree to all these rules (especially "no whining").

We have done crawls locally: Strip District, Southside, Mt Washington & Station Square, Oakmont, Oakland, Bloomfield, Downtown Pittsburgh, Polish Hill and Lawrenceville. Also we occasionally crawl elsewhere: Dublin Ireland, Cleveland Flats, Prague, Germany, Toronto Canada & Seven Springs Resort and a bunch of other places.

Glad you feel that way Berto.. Bloomfield is a better place if you are avoiding it..

P.S. I'm Irish.. anything but a hipster, not a commie, not a liberal and we do just fine here in Bloomfield

Irish and Italians are basically the same. Everyone raised Catholic tends to be fucked in the head. I was raised Catholic but fortunately I discovered Zen philosophy through Star Wars at an early age. But yeah if there is another world war we can use Bloomfield as a place to round up Commie Liberals along with people with Italy tattoos and foreign language speakers all of whom are not loyal to this country. In fact all Catholics since they give their Loyalty to the Pope before Nation.

Maybe things have changed since I lived there, but it seems that Bloomfield (although touted as "Pittsburgh's little Italy") has a larger population of many other ethnic groups like the polish, blacks or koreans than it does of italians.

I'll take your word for it then, I never really met any of the older folk up my way. I was basing my assumption on all of the kids. I guess it'd make sense for the older folk to be italians in an area calling itself "pittsburgh's little italy."

I remember trick or treating in Bloomfield a few years ago and feeling like I was the first non Italian to walk in some of those back streets in years.
